Set Up Your Own Netflix-Style Streaming Service with Jellyfin on Yundera

Why Create Your Own Streaming Service with Jellyfin on Yundera?

Imagine having a Netflix-style service that you fully control, hosting all your favorite movies, TV shows, and music. Jellyfin on Yundera makes this possible. Jellyfin is a free, open-source media server that allows you to manage, stream, and share your media content just like major streaming services, but without the fees or privacy concerns. Yundera simplifies the setup, with some clicks and making your personal streaming service as easy to use as any popular platform. Here’s why Yundera is the perfect home for your Jellyfin server:

Your Domain – Access your media through a personalized URL like stream.yourdomain.nsl.sh.

One-Click Installation – Set up Jellyfin quickly and easily, no technical fuss.

Multi-Device Streaming – Watch on smartphones, tablets, PCs, and more.

Multiple User Accounts – Share with family and friends, each with their own personalized viewing experience.

Secure & Private – Fully protected with automatic HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Self-Hosted & Free – No subscriptions, no ads, no tracking.

Ready to build your own streaming hub? 🚀 Follow these simple steps to get started!

Step 1: Set Up Yundera & Your Domain

  • Sign into your Yundera account.
  • Access your Dashboard.
  • Secure your custom domain (e.g.,netflixandchill.nsl.sh).
  • Yundera will automatically enable HTTPS/TLS for your new domain.

Step 2: Install Jellyfin from CasaOS

  • Go to the App Store.
  • Find Jellyfin among the available apps.
  • Click on ‘Install’ and let Yundera complete the setup.
  • Once installed, Jellyfin will be ready at:
    http://media.yourdomain.nsl.sh:8096

Step 3: Configure Jellyfin

  • Open Jellyfin app or visit on your browser http://netflixandchill.nsl.sh:8096.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to configure Jellyfin, setting up languages, users, and media libraries.
  • Complete the initial setup by connecting to your media folders . You can easily find the path to these folders in your Yundera storage under DATA/Media/.
  • Now you can upload your media directly to this folder. Jellyfin, together with Yundera, will handle the rest, making your content available for streaming across all your devices.

Step 4: Secure Your Jellyfin Server

Jellyfin setup includes security features, but double-check these:

  • Navigate to Jellyfin Dashboard > Network.
  • Ensure that ‘Secure connection mode’ is set to ‘Handled by reverse proxy’ since HTTPS is managed by Yundera.
  • Adjust the base URL if needed, so it reflects your secure domain (e.g., https://netflixandchill.nsl.sh ).

Step 5: Enjoy Your Personal Media Server

Now that Jellyfin is up and running, you can:

Upload Media – Add your movies, shows, and music. (If you need help, there is a blog focusing on this)

Stream Anywhere – Access your content from any device, anywhere.

Personalize – Customize settings and user profiles to suit your preferences.
